Sandweiler is one of the communes bordering Luxembourg City, located to the east of the Luxembourg capital. It is one of the smallest communes in Luxembourg.
It includes the villages of Sandweiler and Findel, where Luxembourg airport and the Luxembourg detention center are located.

Sandweiler, a rich history
Sandweiler is a pretty rural village with all amenities. Sandweiler is located 5 km from the capital. It is close to Luxembourg City and the districts of Hamm, Cents, which were once part of the commune, and Pulvermuhl.
Sandweiler has a rich history. Its origins date back to Roman times. In the Middle Ages. Sandweiler was part of Munster Abbey.

From a road standpoint, direct access to the A1 freeway via the recently redeveloped Irrgarten traffic circle and the presence of the N2 make getting around easy.
