Rollingergrund, a young neighborhood in Luxembourg
The origins of the Rollingergrund neighborhood date back to 1223. Its development followed that of the Boch pottery factory, which has been located here since the 18th century. Villeroy & Bochtableware from Luxembourg is well known among lovers of beautiful tableware and table arts.
A relatively "young" neighborhood, Rollingergrund attracts a cosmopolitan population of immigrants who work specifically in Kirchberg. Located in the valley between the center of Luxembourg City and Kirchberg, this neighborhood is organized along its main street, Rue de Rollingergrund.
The neighborhood does not have a real center. However, its proximity to amenities is its main asset.
Today, Rollingergrund is primarily a residential neighborhood. The areas around the school and church are the liveliest.
There are many detached houses in the neighborhood. The oldest date back to the 18th century, but the neighborhood developed mainly in the 1950s, like many neighborhoods in Luxembourg. There are also many recent buildings.
