Summer relaxation in Luxembourg

As soon asthe fine weather and spring sunshinearrive, you'll see Luxembourg residents making the most of the fine weather. The terraces of restaurants and cafés are packed from morning to night, notably on Luxembourg's Place d'Armes, in the Ville-Haute district and in the corner of Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes. Convertible car owners take the opportunity to open their doors and enjoy the open air.

As for parks and green spaces, residents enjoy them for walks, picnics, sporting activities or simply relaxing on the lawns.

Swimming pools are also very popular in hot weather, as are public open-air beaches. The large lawns and deckchairs are well used by visitors.

Swimming and relaxation pools, true wellness centers

Luxembourg's swimming pools are generally very well equipped. They offer a wide range of facilities for relaxation. Some offer outdoor pools, ideal in summer. Lawns allow you to spend entire days in the best possible conditions and perfect your tan.

There are also saunas and/or hammams, Jacuzzis, etc. Please note that nudity is often requested in these areas. Remember to bring a towel large enough to accommodate you.

Large slides are available for children and adults alike.

Each nautical center offers on-site catering and birthday parties for your children.

Coque sports and leisure center in Luxembourg's Kirchberg district

D'Coque is the place to be for top-level athletes. Sports federations and schools come here regularly to train. Families can also have a great time here. 

At La Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, you'll find an Olympic-sized competition swimming pool, a diving tower and other facilities for all levels. You can also take swimming lessons or aqua-gym activities. Aquatic relaxation center

Badanstalt aquatic relaxation center in downtown Luxembourg

The Badanstalt is home to the former municipal baths of the City of Luxembourg. The pool has retained its old-world charm. Today, however, it offers all the modern facilities of a swimming pool and aquatic relaxation center.

Located right in the center of town, in the Luxembourg-Centre district, you'll find a swimming pool, water jets and whirlpools.

For relaxation, this facility offers a thalasso-style water circuit, saunas, a steam bath, shower baths, bathtubs, a solarium and a fitness room. Massages are also available.

Luxembourg municipal swimming pool Merl / Belair

The Luxembourg-Belair municipal swimming pool features a large L-shaped pool. The larger part is reserved for experienced swimmers. The smaller, shallower section is for beginners.

Luxembourg-Bonnevoie municipal swimming pool

This large swimming pool in the Bonnevoie district offers a modern infrastructure with two pools of varying depths.

A weight room, sauna, solarium, sweat bath and cafeteria complete the facilities. Swimming lessons are also available.

Luxembourg City's municipal swimming pools are closed on public holidays.

Luxembourg-Cents municipal pool

In the Cents district, the school swimming pool has just opened its doors to the public at weekends. There are two pools.

The pool is mainly used for training competitive swimmers.

Strassen thermal baths

The Thermes de Strassen is one of Luxembourg's most famous spas. Here you'll find a large semi-Olympic pool, ideal for swimming and swimming laps. A second learning pool enables children to learn to swim. For the little ones, there's a paddling pool. A wave pool, a bubble pool and an outdoor pool offer a wide range of aquatic pleasures, whatever the season or weather.

In addition, two slides, 30 and 80 metres long, are sure to delight kids and friends alike!

The wellness area features several indoor and outdoor cabins with different sauna types and ambiences.

The spa is located between Strassen and the town of Bertrange.

PIDAL in Walferdange, Steinsel and Lorentzweiler.

Located in Walferdange, the PIDAL relaxation center offers a swimming pool with several pools.

The wellness area features a spa with saunas and a relaxing seawater pool, fitness classes and a restaurant. The large lawn is very popular in summer.

Kordall swimming pool in Rodange, PIKO

The Kordall or PIKO swimming pool in southern Luxembourg has an Olympic-size pool, which is quite rare in Luxembourg. Toddlers can splash around in a large paddling pool.

PIKO is also an aquatic and relaxation center, offering a wide range of activities such as aquagym, aquafitness and aquabikes outside school vacations. An 80 m-long slide and a host of other facilities are grouped together within the complex.
For relaxation, 2 Finnish saunas, a Turkish bath and Jacuzzis await visitors. There's also an outdoor lawn for relaxing in the sun.

The special feature of the Rodange swimming pool is that it can be completely uncovered. As soon as the fine weather sets in, it's the perfect place for a family day or afternoon out!

Please note that the Kordall swimming pool is currently closed for renovation.

An der Schwemm in Bettembourg

An der Schwemm offers a swimming pool with 3 pools and a wellness center. A small pool with a slide is designed for children, a learning pool with a waterfall and a large pool reserved for laps and swimming lessons. There's also a 40-metre waterslide.

The wellness area features 4 different saunas, including 2 Finnish saunas with light therapy, a steam room, an immersion pool and a Kneipp pool (cold-water pool). Solarium area for the wellness area.

Syrdall Schwemm aquatic center in Niederanven

The Syrdall Schwemm in Niederanven is a leisure and relaxation area for the whole family. The pool area offers 4 pools. The outdoor pool is open all year round and features a whirlpool and whirlpool beds. The 65-meter-long slide is a delight for children.

The beauty and spa area offers massages, an indoor and outdoor Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath or hammam, and an organic sauna. The sauna area is reserved exclusively for ladies on Wednesdays.

A plunge pool, special showers, an outdoor terrace and an indoor relaxation room complete the facilities.

In summer, you can relax with your family and enjoy a picnic on the huge outdoor lawn!

Krounebierg sports center in Mersch

Krounebierg offers a swimming pool with pools and water games for the whole family, a wellness center, a fitness area and outdoor access.

The swimming pool has a movable floor and a jumping tower. A relaxation pool is also available, as well as a paddling pool for the little ones with water animations. A giant slide completes the facilities.

A water playground is available outside, as well as a large lawn for relaxing and sunbathing. For the more sporty, there's a volleyball court. Showers and changing rooms are available outside.

In the wellness area, you'll find Whirlpool hot tubs, 4 saunas, 3 of which are outdoor. An infrared cabin, steam room, adventure showers, cold-water immersion pool, steam bath and solarium complete the facilities. A superb terrace overlooks the valley.

Aquasud Oberkorn in Differdange

Aquasud is a vast aquatic complex comprising 6 pools, including a 25 m pool, 2 outdoor pools, a leisure pool and a paddling pool.

There are also special programs for the very young, including water awareness and a water garden.

The complex also features a fitness area with 3 gyms and 5 saunas, 2 of which are outdoor (from 18 years).

In the wellness area, visitors will find five saunas, including two outdoor ones, a steam bath, a cold bath and a Jacuzzi. Accessible from 18 years of age. Treatment area.

Escher Schwemm Center in Esch-sur-Alzette

This aquatic complex in Esch-sur-Alzette features a swimming pool with swimming lessons and a wellness center.

The pool complex features 4 pools, including an outdoor pool with water jets and massage benches, a children's pool with water games and a 40 m long waterslide.

The wellness area features a Finnish sauna and a bio-sauna, 2 infrared cabins at 40 degrees, a hammam or Turkish bath, a hot and cold water pool, relaxation areas and a solarium.

Domaine thermal de Mondorf-les-Bains in Luxembourg

Thermal center for relaxation and fitness

The Mondorf-les-Bains thermal spa is one of our favorite places to relax and recharge. Enjoy the benefits of thermal water heated to 36 degrees Celsius!

The Mondorf Thermal Center is a true center for relaxation and fitness. The Mondorfer saltwater spring has been used for thermal treatments since 1847. It offers a wide range of services, including thermal cures, medical rehabilitation, beauty treatments, massages and spa treatments in the wellness area.

Summer and winter alike, you'll enjoy the many indoor and outdoor areas with jet pools. Under-16s are only admitted to the thermal pool on level 0. All other areas are reserved for adults.

The 40-hectare park is a great place to take a stroll or go boating or pedal-boating on the lake. It is also home to Easy Golf, an 18-hole mini-golf course and a giant chess set.

Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains: slot machines and gaming tables

Like to play at the casino? Mondorf has a casino with slot machines, gaming tables and two concert halls.

Did you know that the Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains is the number one tourist attraction in Luxembourg? Take advantage of an evening or even a day to relax and enjoy yourself. You'll find traditional games such as Roulette and Black Jack, as well as slot machines. You can even stay for a weekend in the adjoining 4* hotel.

In the same vein as the Centre Thermal de Mondorf-les-Bains in Luxembourg, you can relax nearby in France at the Thermes d'Amnéville and the adjoining Villa Pompeï.

Public beaches in Luxembourg's natural environment

Do you enjoy swimming in a natural environment? Luxembourg offers the chance to swim in lakes and ponds during the summer months. This lasts from May 1 to September 30.

Several sites offer public beaches. These are regularly monitored for water quality. If algae is present, swimming may be prohibited. Find out more beforehand.

Swimming in the Lac de la Haute-Sûre

Lac de la Haute-Sûre at Boulaide is part of the Haute-Sûre nature reserve. So it's important to respect the environment more than ever, especially when it comes to barbecuing and dog access. A "Stauséi" shuttle bus takes you around the lake more quickly than on foot. But we do recommend the walk

Unsupervised swimming in the Rivière Sûre

The Rivière Sûre, which flows into the lake of the same name, also offers bathing areas, more specifically near the Rosport campsite. Please note, however, that bathing areas are not supervised.

Water sports on Weiswampach's artificial lakes

The Weiswampach artificial lakes are an integral part of the Weiswampach leisure park. Here you can enjoy water sports such as stand-up paddle and wakeboarding.

Swimming in the Remerschen ponds

The Remerschen pond in the municipality of Remerschen in the south-east of the country also offers bathing in a natural environment.

Echternach lake and water activities

In addition to swimming, the Echternach lake offers playgrounds for the little ones and fitness areas for parents. On sunny days, around 11,000 people visit the Echternach lake. Access may be restricted in the event of overcrowding.

Swimming lessons in Luxembourg

Swimming lessons in Luxembourg are very popular. Waiting lists can be long, up to 1 year or more... Remember to register your children well in advance. To do so, contact your local swimming pool.

Swimming Luxembourg offers a swimming school. Children can learn to swim from the age of 3. The association also offers advanced swimming sessions. You can also take part in competitions, synchronized swimming, water polo or aqua-gym. Classes are held in Cents, Dommeldange, Gasperich, Bonnevoie, etc.

From the age of 4, Little Swim offers swimming lessons in groups of up to 12 children, beginners or advanced. Classes take place at two locations: the Howald pool and the Lycée technique du Centre pool(Luxembourg-Limpertsberg).
