Luxembourg Olympic and Sports Committee
The Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois (COSL) is the central body for sport in Luxembourg.
On the COSL website, you'll find all the latest news on the forthcoming Olympic and European Games, as well as information on the athletes representing the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Today, the COSL represents over 125,000 sports members in Luxembourg. There are over 1,500 sports associations and more than 60 federations and sports groups.
His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri has been an IOC member since 1998. He took over from his father HRH Grand Duke Jean.

CK sports center, racquet sports and bowling
The CK Sports Center in Kockelscheuer is well known. Originally intended for the well-being of CK Group employees, it is now open to all.
The sports complex is mainly dedicated to racket sports (tennis, squash, badminton, padel). The Swedishtennis school www.estess.org offers tennis lessons.
The CK Center is also known for its 10 bowling lanes. A great place to spend an evening with friends or family. Catering available on site.

The Äischdall-Trail offers 6, 11 and 21 km running and Nordic walking trails on the Luxembourg border. The event takes place every year on August 15.
Outdoor fitness activities in Luxembourg
The City of Luxembourg provides outdoor fitness areas for all sports enthusiasts to train in the open air. The facilities are available free of charge to anyone aged 12 and over.

Luxembourg has several golf courses. Golfers flock to them in fine weather. Remember to book your course well in advance. Access is often restricted to season ticket holders, whether to play or to take part in competitions.

Skateboarding in Luxembourg
For skateboard enthusiasts, Luxembourg offers several skate parks. You can also attend skateboarding events.
Skatepark Péitruss Luxembourg-Grund
With a total surface area of 3,400 m², the Pétrusse skatepark is located on Rue Saint Quirin in Luxembourg's Grund district. This park for skateboarders is perfectly integrated into the bucolic natural surroundings of the Unesco World Heritage site. The Skatepark's 2,500 m² of skating surface respects the environment. Delimited by stones from the remains of the fortress, you'll find a 600 m² bowl, surrounded by bleachers and a 600 m² streetplaza.
The complex has been hosting the Luxembourg International Skate Cup since 2017. This competition is a great success with the presence of the best European skateboarders.
Indoor skatepark in Luxembourg-Hollerich
The Luxembourg-Hollerich district offers an indoor skatepark at 5, rue de l'Abattoir. BMX lessons are available every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Skatepark in Luxembourg-Gasperich
Skateboard enthusiasts will find a number of ramps and inclines at Muehlenweg in the Gasperich district .
Skate Park Belval Plaza - Esch-sur-Alzette
Covering almost 700 m2, this outdoor skatepark in Esch-sur-Alzette is reminiscent of an urban square. It is equipped with the latest innovations in street furniture for skateboarding (rails, walls, stairs, etc.).
Red Rock Skate Park - Schifflange
Schifflange boasts the largest concrete skatepark in the country and in the Grande Région! It officially has no closing hours. It's even lit up during the summer months until 10pm. Admission is free. You'll find it on Chemin de Bergem (near the multi-purpose hall).
Winter sports in Luxembourg
Ice skating and rinks
For fans of ice skating, curling, field hockey or go-karting, there are several ice rinks in Luxembourg. Please note that they are only open during the winter season.
Kockelscheuer indoor skating rink
Kockelscheuer offers a large skating rink on the outskirts of Luxembourg-City.
It is open from mid-September to the end of March only. It is also closed on certain public holidays. The rink opens exceptionally for events such as the Spring Cup in March/April and the Ice Hockey Tournament in May.
Helmets and ice skates can be rented on site for safe skating. With the Pingo School, you can also learn to ice skate in group or private lessons.

Open-air skating rink in Beaufort
The northeastern town of Beaufort boasts Luxembourg's oldest skating rink . It has been in existence since 1969. Located in the open air, it is covered by a canvas tent and operates during the winter season only. Skate rental and skating assistance available.
Ice karting is also available, by reservation only.
Knuedler on ice" skating rink, Christmas entertainment in Luxembourg

Galgebierg natural ice rink in Esch-sur-Alzette
As soon as weather conditions permit and temperatures are cold enough, skate in a natural environment at the Galgebierg park in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The Galgebierg natural ice rink offers skating fans fantastic natural conditions for practicing their favorite sport. Located in the Esch-sur-Alzette municipal park, it offers a skating area of almost 2000 m²! In summer, the surface is a huge playground for the little Esch inhabitants.
Skiing in and around Luxembourg
Do you miss the wide open spaces of the mountains where you can enjoy winter sports? Did you know that you can ski in or near Luxembourg? In fact, some resorts even offer skiing in summer!
At Weiswampach in northern Luxembourg, you can enjoy real cross-country and even downhill skiing!

Water sports in Luxembourg

Soccer and rugby matches at the Stade de Luxembourg
When it was built, the Stade de Luxembourg caused quite a stir because of its budget and construction times.
Nevertheless, today it can accommodate almost 10,000 spectators. Classified as a category 4 stadium, it can host international soccer and rugby matches. It replaces the former Josy Barthel stadium, which is due to disappear in favor of a new district to be built on the Route d'Arlon in Luxembourg.
The Luxembourg stadium is located at Ban de Gasperich, in the direction of Kockelscheueur. It will eventually be served by the tramway.

Throughout the year, Luxembourg City organizes over 160 sports and fitness courses. These courses are open to everyone, whatever their physical condition. They take place at over 30 different indoor and outdoor venues, depending on the season.
Choose a particular course or take the passe-partout card, which gives you access to all courses. Luxembourg City residents benefit from a preferential rate. They are given priority when registering for activities.

Hiking and sports facilities in youth hostels
Luxembourg's youth hostels offer top-quality accommodation and sports facilities. They offer a wide range of group and individual activities.
Here you can enjoy hiking and other sporting activities such as mountain biking and racing. Signposted footpaths link the various youth hostels. They allow you to discover Luxembourg's beautiful landscapes and take advantage of the hotel's low-cost facilities.
