Within the framework of your expatriation in Luxembourg, you are looking for an accommodation for a few days, several weeks or several months? Whether it is within the framework of your studies, for a professional mission or temporarily before you can find a long-term accommodation, find below the selection made by Just Arrived of the great temporary housings in the Grand Duchy: apartment/hotel combination, youth hostels, guest houses, student housing…
Apartment/hotels and temporary residences
Whether you wish to live on your own or to share an accommodation, the temporary residences and apartment/hotels combinations are a real compromise between a classic rental property and a hotel suite. Generally furnished and well equipped, these residences offer you the intimacy of an apartment but also supply the basic services of a hotel (change of bedding and towels, cleaning…). This type of accommodation exists in different configurations: building of several rooms, small intimate apartments, with a garden or not, with or without a complete sports infrastructure. A wide choice of establishments is proposed in Luxembourg, with highly varied prices range as well.
Bed & Breakfast / Guest houses
More restricted than the previous category, the offer of guest houses in Luxembourg is not less interesting. These offer you a warmer, more personalised reception and a real contact with people who live in the country. Friendlier, this type of short-term accommodation is interesting for people wishing to discover the Grand Duchy and its values and to share moments with the owners of the residence. Certain guest houses even offer the possibility to rent the totality of the house.
Youth hostels and student housing
Intended mainly for the young adults but opened to any person who likes living in a community, youth hostels are an excellent way to stay in Luxembourg without spending a fortune for a trainee or a summer job. Indeed, it is cheaper there than in a hotel and the breakfast is sometimes included in the price of the room. It is also possible to choose the number of people with whom you wish to live in your dormitory (the price will depend on it) as well as to make group reservations.
Student housings, as for them, are dedicated to young people wishing to live temporarily in Luxembourg within the framework of a school or university program or of a summer job. Some are also reserved for trainees, of any nationalities. Furnished and adapted to the student life, this housing is relatively rare in the Luxembourg and their price varies strongly from a residence to another.
Created in 2005, “Wunnraum Fir Stagiairen” is a reception and accommodation service for trainees of all nationalities. More information on the website wfs.lu.
The University of Luxembourg currently provides more than 1,000 housing units for its students. 3 new residences should be made available in autumn 2019 in the Luxembourg City, Esch-sur-Alzette and Dudelange areas. The accommodation is very varied, from furnished rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities at less than 400 euros per month to independent furnished studios rented at nearly 700 euros for a single student and more than 1,100 euros for a couple.
