Swimming pools: true relaxation centers in Luxembourg

Do you like water? Do you want to swim laps in the pool with a friend, splash around with your children, or enjoy the benefits of spas? In Luxembourg, swimming pools are generally very well equipped. They offer many facilities conducive to relaxation.

Some swimming pools have outdoor pools, which are ideal in summer. Lawns allow you to spend whole days in the best conditions and perfect your tan.

There are also saunas and/or steam rooms, jacuzzis, etc. Please note that nudity is often required in these areas. Remember to bring a towel large enough to cover yourself. In addition, there are large slides for children and adults alike.

D'Coque is a favorite spot for high-level athletes. Sports federations and schools come here to train regularly. Families can also have a great time here.

At La Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, you will find an Olympic-size competition swimming pool, a diving tower , and other facilities for all levels. It is also possible to take swimming lessons or participate in aqua-gym activities. Aquatic recreation center

Badanstalt aquatic relaxation center in the center of Luxembourg

The Badanstalt is the building that houses the former municipal baths of the City of Luxembourg. This swimming pool has retained its old-world charm. However, it now offers all the modern facilities of a swimming pool and aquatic relaxation center.

Located in the heart of the city, in the Luxembourg-Centre district , you will find a swimming pool, water jets, and whirlpool baths.

For relaxation, this establishment offers an aquatic circuit similar to those found in thalassotherapy centers, saunas, a hammam, showers, bathtubs, a solarium, and a fitness room. You can also enjoy massages.

Municipal swimming pools in Luxembourg City

Luxembourg Merl/Belair municipal swimming pool

The Luxembourg-Belair municipal swimming pool has a large L-shaped swimming pool. The larger part is reserved for experienced swimmers. The smaller, shallower part is for learning to swim.

Luxembourg-Bonnevoie municipal swimming pool

This large swimming pool in the Bonnevoie district offers modern facilities with two pools of varying depths. An introduction to diving was offered to visitors to the 2024 Urban History Festival in Bonnevoie.

A weight room, sauna, solarium, sweat bath, and cafeteria complete the facilities. Swimming lessons are available.

The municipal swimming pools in Luxembourg City are closed on public holidays.

Luxembourg-Cents municipal swimming pool

In the Cents district, the school swimming pool has just opened its doors to the public at weekends. It has two pools.

This pool is mainly used for training competitive swimmers.

The Strassen Thermal Baths

The Strassen Thermal Baths are one of the most famous establishments in Luxembourg. There is a large semi-Olympic pool, ideal for swimming and doing laps. A second teaching pool allows children to learn to swim. Younger children can enjoy the paddling pool. A wave pool, a bubble pool, and an outdoor pool offer a variety of water activities, whatever the season or weather.

In addition, two slides, 30 and 80 meters long, are a delight for children and friends!

The wellness area offers several indoor and outdoor cabins with different types of saunas and atmospheres.

The thermal baths are located between Strassen and the town of Bertrange.

PIDAL in Walferdange, Steinsel, and Lorentzweiler.

Located in Walferdange, the PIDAL relaxation center offers a swimming pool with several swimming pools.

The wellness area offers a spa with saunas and a relaxing seawater pool, fitness classes, and a restaurant. The large lawn is very enjoyable in summer.

Kordall swimming pool in Rodange, PIKO

The Kordall or PIKO swimming pool in southern Luxembourg has an Olympic-size pool, which is quite rare in Luxembourg. Toddlers can splash around in a large paddling pool.

PIKO is also an aquatic and relaxation center with many activities such as aquagym, aquafitness, and aquabikes outside of school holidays. An 80-meter-long slide and multiple facilities are grouped together within the complex.
For relaxation, visitors can enjoy two Finnish saunas, a Turkish bath, and jacuzzis. An outdoor lawn is perfect for relaxing in the sun.

The unique feature of the Rodange swimming pool is that it can be completely uncovered. As soon as the weather improves, it is the perfect place for a day or afternoon with the family!

Please note that the Kordall swimming pool is currently closed for renovation.

An der Schwemm in Bettembourg

An der Schwemm offers a swimming pool with three pools and a wellness center. A small pool with a slide is designed for children, a learning pool with a waterfall and a large pool is reserved for lap swimming and swimming lessons. There is also a 40-meter slide.

The wellness area offers four different saunas, including two Finnish saunas with light therapy, a steam room, an immersion pool, and a Kneipp pool (cold water pool). There is also a solarium area for the wellness area.

Syrdall Schwemm Aquatic Center in Niederanven

The Syrdall Schwemm in Niederanven is a relaxation and leisure area for the whole family. The pool area has four pools. The outdoor pool is open all year round and has a whirlpool and bubble beds. The 65-meter slide is a big hit with children.

The beauty and spa area offers massages, an indoor Finnish sauna and an outdoor sauna, a Turkish bath or hammam, and a bio sauna. The sauna area is reserved exclusively for women on Wednesdays. An immersion pool, special showers, an outdoor terrace, and an indoor relaxation room complete the facilities.

Krounebierg Sports Center in Mersch

Krounebierg offers a swimming pool with pools and water games for the whole family, a wellness center, a fitness area, and outdoor access.

The swimming pool has a movable floor and a diving tower. There is also a relaxation pool and a paddling pool for younger children with water features. A giant slide completes the facilities.

The wellness area features hot whirlpool poolsand four saunas, three of which are outdoors. An infrared cabin, a hammam, adventure showers, a cold water immersion pool, a steam bath, and a solarium complete the facilities. A superb terrace offers a view of the valley.

Aquasud Oberkorn in Differdange

Aquasud is a large aquatic complex with six pools, including one 25-meter pool, two outdoor pools, a leisure pool, and a paddling pool.

There are also special programs for young children, including water familiarization and an aquatic garden.

The complex also offers a fitness area with three gyms and five saunas, including two outdoor saunas (for ages 18 and over).

In the wellness area, visitors can enjoy five saunas, including two outdoor saunas, a steam bath, a cold bath, and a jacuzzi. Accessible to those aged 18 and over. Treatment area.

Escher Schwemm Center in Esch-sur-Alzette

This aquatic complex in Esch-sur-Alzette consists of a swimming pool with swimming lessons and a wellness center.

Swimming in Luxembourg in the summer

Several swimming pools open their doors or outdoor areas during the summer months. Everyone can relax in the open air on large lawns, perfect for perfecting your tan or playing outdoors while cooling off.

Swimming pools and water parks near Luxembourg

Popular with everyone, the "Les Thermes à Strassen" aquatic center is a must-see, as is the Syrdall Schwemm swimming pool in Niederanven with its large outdoor area. In summer, you can relax with your family and picnic on the huge outdoor lawn, while enjoying the outdoor pool with its relaxation and entertainment facilities!

The Hespérange Municipal Park offers a space for summer relaxation with the Hesper Beach Club. There is a children's pool, a snack bar and restaurant, a pétanque court and even a beach volleyball court!

A little further away, the Krounebierg Aquatic Center in Mersch offers an outdoor playground and a large lawn for relaxing and sunbathing. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a volleyball court. Showers and changing rooms are available outside.

Outdoor aquatic centers in the regions of Luxembourg

Want to take advantage of the good weather to visit Luxembourg while cooling off?

Eastern Luxembourg offers several possibilities. The town of Remich has a large outdoor swimming pool with three pools and a paddling pool for all ages. Grevenmacher, near the German border, and Beaufort also have outdoor swimming pools.

In the south, you will find the Dudelange outdoor swimming pool with its various outdoor play areas, open from the end of May to the beginning of September. These are great additions to the facilities at the Bains du Parc in Esch-sur-Alzette and the Kordall swimming pool in Rodange.

Heading north, don't miss the beach behind the Diekirch swimming pool, open from mid-July to mid-August. There are several activities on offer, including beach volleyball and a bouncy castle. The Redange-sur-Attert swimming pool also has an outdoor area.

Further afield, Troisvierge has a magnificent outdoor swimming pool with large water play facilities such as a large slide, water games, and massage jets. Vianden is not to be outdone with its large, completely renovated outdoor swimming pool, featuring a large slide and lawns to welcome visitors to the heart of the Luxembourg Ardennes.

As for Hosingen Park, it offers the huge AquaNat'Our aquatic center, covering more than 3,500 m² of relaxation facilities and, above all, an outdoor swimming pond open in summer.

Public beaches in natural surroundings in Luxembourg

Do you enjoy swimming in natural surroundings? Luxembourg offers the opportunity to swim in lakes or ponds during the summer season. This lasts from May 1 to September 30.

Several sites offer public beaches. These are regularly monitored for water quality. If algae are present, swimming may be prohibited. Please check in advance.

Swimming in the Upper Sûre Lake

The Upper Sûre Lake in Boulaide is part of the Upper Sûre nature reserve. It is therefore important to respect the environment more than ever, particularly with regard to barbecuing and access for dogs. A "Stauséi" shuttle bus allows you to get around the lake more quickly than on foot. However, we recommend walking.

Unsupervised swimming in the Sûre River

The Sûre River, which flows into the lake of the same name, also offers swimming areas, specifically near the Rosport campsite. Please note, however, that the swimming areas are not supervised.

Water sports on the artificial lakes of Weiswampach

The artificial lakes of Weiswampach are an integral part of the leisure center located in the municipality of Weiswampach. Water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding and wakeboarding can be practiced there.

Swimming in the Remerschen ponds

The Remerschen pond in the municipality of Remerschen in the south-east of the country also offers the opportunity to swim in a natural environment in the Baggerweier area. In addition to swimming, you can also go paddleboarding or boating there.

Lake Echternach and water sports

In addition to swimming in a reserved area, Lake Echternach offers playgrounds for children and fitness areas for parents. On sunny days, nearly 11,000 people visit Lake Echternach. Access may be restricted in the event of excessive crowds.

The Mondorf-les-Bains thermal center is one of our favorite places to relax and recharge our batteries. Experience the benefits of thermal water heated to 36 degrees Celsius!

The Mondorf Thermal Center is a true center for relaxation, rest, and fitness. The Mondorfer saltwater spring has been used for thermal treatments since 1847. There are many services available: thermal cures, medical rehabilitation, beauty treatments, massages, and a spa in the Wellness Area.

In summer and winter alike, you can enjoy the many indoor and outdoor areas with jet pools. Children under 16 are only allowed in the thermal pool on level 0. The other areas are reserved for adults.

The 40-hectare park is a very pleasant place to walk or go boating or pedaloing on the lake. It also houses Easy Golf, an 18-hole mini-golf course, and a giant chess set.

Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains: slot machines and gaming tables

Do you like playing at the casino? In Mondorf, you will find a casino with slot machines, gaming tables, and two concert and performance halls.

Did you know that Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains is Luxembourg's number one tourist attraction? Enjoy an evening or even a day there to relax and have fun. In the same vein as the Mondorf-les-Bains Thermal Center in Luxembourg, you can relax nearby in France at the Thermes d'Amnéville and the adjoining Villa Pompéï.
