Leisure activities and outings in Belgium
The Ardennes in south-east Belgium is a relatively untouched area of natural beauty, rich in faun and flora. Visit the numerous beautiful villages, tucked away in valleys and rich in local traditions, folklore and artisans.

Orval abbey in Villers-devant Orval
75 km from Luxembourg. This old cistercian abbey and ruins are well worth a visit. A beautiful authentic site down in a valley by the bubbling Mathilde fountain. Also visit the art exhibition housed in the 18th century cellars, the traditional chemist and medicinal plant gardens. Various themed exhibitions take place throughout the summer. You can also discover the secrets of brewing Orval beer, to taste with an Orval cheese sandwich!

Flea Market in Arlon
30 km from Luxembourg. If you love a good flea market then make sure you head to Arlon. A great day out for the family. It takes place every 1st sunday of the month from march to november. It attracts a lot of vendors and visitors.

Domaine of the Caves of Han
110 km from Luxembourg. A marvellous day for young and old alike with a tour of the grotto carved out by the river Lesse wich crosses through, the wild animals reserve, the “expothème” and the museum of the underground world. There is a mini-farm and a games area to keep children amused between the various visits. You can even spend the night with the bears in a Trapper’s cabin. Food available.
