Music Festival: free concerts throughout Luxembourg!

Luxembourg
Outings – Leisure activities

As it does every year, the Grand Fête de la Musique is set to continue the summer music festivities in Luxembourg in June 2027.

Luxembourg City, the Capital of Music

Following the return of the URBAN PIANO project —which kicks off the musical season by inviting passersby to play the piano in the streets of Luxembourg—the Fête de la Musique takes over! But it’s with the launch of the Fête de la Musique that the real fun begins!

All kinds of concerts take over the capital in mid-June, offering something for every musical taste. With several stages—true “music spots” throughout the capital—the city of Luxembourg showcases music from around the world. The program, which is still to be finalized , generally unfolds as follows:

Starting in mid-June, various locations throughout the capital resound with the sounds of different orchestras and musical performances:

  • the Central Station from early morning onward, welcoming numerous travelers with a variety of music
  • the Place d’Armes and its bandstand come alive starting at 11 a.m. with a variety of jazz, Latin, and even brass band ensembles
  • the Place des Bains starting at 3 p.m., featuring mostly folk, rock, or blues
  • the Montée de Clausen focused on world music and electronic music
  • Rue du Saint-Esprit,
  • the Centre Hamilius, with rock and even metal sounds
  • Rue Sigefroi,
  • Place Clairefontaine will be filled with electronic, rock, and hip-hop/rap sounds,
  • Paname, located on Place de Paris, offers jazz concerts,
  • Urban City on Rue de la Boucherie features concerts with a focus on folk and world music
  • Place de la Constitution resonates with African-American music and even hip-hop/rap
  • Place Guillaume II/Knuedler isn’t left out either.
  • ...

And the program continues over the following days in the city’s various neighborhoods: downtown, Bonnevoie, Kirchberg , and Eich. Jazz, classical, electro-pop, blues, hip-hop, or experimental—passersby can choose as they wander from one stage to another to enjoy different styles of music.

Music Festival in the Regions of the Grand Duchy

But the Fête de la Musique doesn’t stop at Luxembourg City. The regions of the Grand Duchy are also celebrating, notably with musical concerts. Do you enjoy live street music? Music Day is a festive and very friendly musical event in which many municipalities across Luxembourg participate by bringing their streets and cultural centers to life.

This is particularly true of Mamer, Kehlen, Dudelange, Schuttrange, Bertrange, Mersch, Niederanven… and many others, which offer a wide variety of concerts featuring classical, jazz, electronic, and dance music, among others. Check with your local municipality for more information. The Big Band Music Festival is an excellent way to introduce your children to music in all its forms.
