Luxembourg’s concert halls offer an eclectic lineup suited to all audiences: classical, contemporary, pop, rock, jazz, and alternative music.
The Concerts de Midi: Free Music in Luxembourg
The “Concerts de Midi” take place year-round at various venues throughout the capital. These free concerts, primarily dedicated to classical music, are held between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM on select Fridays.
In the summer, they are held in the exceptional setting of Villa Vauban.
Classical Concerts at the Philharmonie Luxembourg
Located in the Kirchberg district, the Philharmonie Luxembourg is a must-visit destination for classical music.
It is home to the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, comprising around 100 musicians, and offers a rich program: symphonic concerts, chamber music, and educational events suitable for all ages.

Den Atelier: intimate concerts in Luxembourg
More intimate concerts at Den Atelier in Luxembourg
Den Atelier has been Luxembourg’spremier “live music club” since 1995. In this concert hall located in the trendy nightlife district of Luxembourg-Hollerich, you can enjoy exceptional proximity to the artists.
Many international artists perform in this stunning setting, a former abandoned auto garage. Den Atelier can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
Created by enthusiasts of alternative music, international rock, and indie bands, Den Atelier’slineup rivals that of international venues such as the Bataclan in Paris, the Paradiso in Amsterdam, and the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.

Rockhal in Belval: Luxembourg’s largest concert venue
Located in Esch-sur-Alzette, the Rockhal is Luxembourg’s largest concert venue. Over time, the Rockhal has become the go-to venue for international musical events and gatherings. Many international stars, such as Sting, include the Rockhal in Luxembourg on their world tours.
Opened in 2005 on the former industrial wasteland of Belval, it hosts international concerts as well as a variety of shows.
In addition to rock and pop concerts, you can also attend events such as film-concert performances or classical ballets like Swan Lake , as well as contemporary dance shows. Major musical productions like the ballet-concert Carmina Burana are also staged there, along with plays and one-man shows for general audiences.
With its three venues, the Rockhal can accommodate up to 6,500 people in the Main Hall, 1,200 people in the Club, and 200 people on the Floor. The Rockhal also features a recording studio, a dance studio, rehearsal rooms, and a Documentation Center.
Each year, the Rockhal welcomes more than 250,000 visitors from across the Greater Region. More than 200 events take place there annually.

Concerts at Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains
Casino 2000 offers concerts and shows in a historic setting dating back to 1882. Dedicated to contemporary art in all its forms, you can attend concerts and performances there. You can view the program and reserve your tickets on the website.
Take the opportunity to visit the magnificent park of the Mondorf-les-Bains Thermal Estate.
Jazz and Blues: Blues Club Lëtzebuerg
The Blues Club Lëtzebuerg is a leading venue for jazz and blues in Luxembourg.
It notably participates in the Blues’n Jazz Rallye festival held in the summer as partof the “Summer in the City” event.
This club is also involved in numerous concerts organized in the region. Jazz concerts are held inthe enchanting and legendary “Sang a klang” venue, which seats 250 and is located in the Luxembourg-Pfaffenthal neighborhood. This venue also hosts screenings from the Cineast Film Festival.
Music Festivals in Luxembourg
Starting in May, a series of festivals takes place in Luxembourg, including the Summer in the City event. The music season kicks offwith the My Urban Piano initiative and its pianos scattered throughout the city of Luxembourg.
Other notable music festivals and concerts include:
- Since 2019, the Luxembourg Open Air has opened and closed the music season with its two-day open-air concerts in Esch-sur-Alzette and at LuxExpo in Luxembourg City. Headliners such as Sting, Justin Timberlake, and Damso attract thousands of spectators.
- The Fête de la Musique, which celebrates the start of summer with music in the streets of Luxembourg’s major cities
- City Sounds, featuring a music stage set up on the Champ du Glacis as part of the National Day festivities on June 22 and 23
- Les Francopholies in Galgebierg Park in Esch-sur-Alzette. This festival brings together several French-speaking headliners in a rustic, family-friendly atmosphere over three days.
- The Siren’s Call music festival in Luxembourg offers the chance to attend concerts featuring various genres—French pop, rock, electronic, and more—in the magnificent setting of Neumünster Abbey.
- The Kinnekswiss Loves festival offers the chance to attend a grand philharmonic concert on the lawn of the Municipal Park in July
- The Rock A Field Festival is organized by the Den Atelier concert hall in the idyllic setting of the town of Roeser
- The Blues’n Jazz Rallye Festival brings jazz lovers together in the streets of the lower town in Clausen and in the Grund
- The Wiltz Festival in June–July is an opportunity to discover the “capital of the north” with international musicians and bands.
A special musical event delights music lovers: the Fête de la Musique in June. In Luxembourg, it lasts for several days!
Additionally, the Festival des Migrations, although not focused on music, offers a chance to discover Luxembourg’s multicultural richness, particularly through world music and lesser-known artists. This festival takes place in winter at LuxExpoThe Box.

Eurovision Song Contest
Luxembourg resumed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024, after a 31-year absence. Its last appearance before this return was in 1993 , when Luxembourg finished in 20th place.

Dance Shows and Ballets in Luxembourg
Theaters in Luxembourg City, cultural centers, and private venues offer numerous dance performances and ballets in Luxembourg.

Located in the Luxembourg-Bonnevoie neighborhood, TROIS C-L is the leading institution for contemporary dance in Luxembourg.
On the 3rd of every month, TROIS C-L organizes “3 du TROIS,” featuring a multidisciplinary artistic program that seeks to rethink and question society and the art of choreography. For the public, it’s a unique opportunity to discover the world of contemporary dance and engage in discussions with the guest artists.

Free music classes for young people
Luxembourg offers free public education to all young people in the fields of music, the spoken word, and dance. Up to the age of 18, young residents can take advantage of free music classes in municipal facilities through the completion of the first cycle.
This free access is provided on a sliding scale based on family income, thereby fully integrating musical education into the upbringing of children in Luxembourg.

Conservatory of the City of Luxembourg
Founded in 1906 thanks to a private donation, the Luxembourg City Conservatory is located in the Merl district. It features a prestigious auditorium with over 600 seats, whose acoustics have already captivated many famous artists, including Mstislav Rostropovich.
The Conservatory is a music and dance school for students aged 7 to 25, offering 140 theoretical and practical disciplines.
For the youngest children, an introduction to music is available starting at age 3 through the “Mini Music” program. Classical dance is taught starting at age 7.
Students can learn various musical instruments, take dance and singing lessons, as well as courses in diction, drama in German and French, improvisation, physical expression, directing, breathing techniques, and theater history.
The conservatory also operates satellite locations in various neighborhoods of Luxembourg City, in collaboration with music schools.
Applications for enrollment are accepted during the first half of September. Enrollment is subject to availability. Entrance exams may be required.
The conservatory’s museum features musical archives and antique musical instruments, including the piano on which Franz Liszt performed his final concert in 1886.
The Rollingergrund Municipal Band
In partnership with the Luxembourg Conservatory,the Rollingergrund Municipal Wind Band offers music theory and wind instrument lessons for brass and woodwind players. A highly accomplished amateur wind orchestra, the Municipal Wind Band is regularly seeking new musicians, including percussionists. This is a great opportunity for musicians looking for an orchestra where they can showcase their talents.

Voices International is an international choir for adults in Luxembourg. This non-profit organization regularly gives concerts in various languages and musical genres. Proceeds are donated to children’s charities.
