LuxembourgFor more than four decades, Luxembourg has celebrated its rich cultural mosaic every year. The Festival of Migration, Cultures, and Citizenship is an iconic event organized by the CLAE (Liaison Committee of Foreign Associations).
The next edition will take place on March 21 and 22, 2026, at LuxExpo The Box Luxembourg.
Residents and newcomers will once again have a unique opportunity to discover and celebrate the cultural diversity that makes the Grand Duchy so rich.
Each organization working to promote cultural and political life in Luxembourg will showcase its achievements and commitment to a more equitable society and a more united future.
For expatriates and new residents, the Festival of Migration is much more than just a cultural event. Organized by the CLAE, the organization responsible for the integration of newcomers, the Festival of Migration, Culture, and Citizenship is a gateway to the many facets of Luxembourgish society. It is one of the must-see events in Luxembourg.
Newcomers and long-time expats in Luxembourg are also invited to discover the traditions, arts, and cuisines of the more than 170 nationalities represented in Luxembourg, all living together in harmony. Participating in this festival means understanding the social dynamics of Luxembourg, forging ties, and feeling like a part of this multicultural community.
The Festival of Migration offers a multitude of activities spread over two days, reflecting the cultural richness of Luxembourg.
The entire program highlights the multiculturalism of Luxembourg's residents through various workshops and presentations. At the Festival of Migration, Cultures, and Citizenship, visitors can participate in numerous festive and convivial activities: entertainment , stage shows, master classes, conferences, round tables, as well as cultural and artistic activities, concerts, and more.
More than 400 stands are present, representing various cultural associations, NGOs, and institutions working for a more inclusive society. Visitors can taste culinary specialties from around the world, discover unique handicrafts, and talk with representatives from different communities. This allows them to better understand the diverse cultures present in Luxembourg.
In the various halls, visitors can take part in a Japanese calligraphy workshop, a painting workshop, a film screening and discussion, and many other fun and creative activities.
At the heart of the festival is the "Festival Village," a space dedicated to citizen debates, activities, and interactive workshops. Supported by various public and private organizations, this space promotes discussions on current events, integration issues, and contemporary societal challenges. Visitors are encouraged to actively participate in round tables and conferences, contributing to a collective reflection on citizenship and living together.
This year, the Young Makers Space, run by several associations, will offer younger visitors a range of creative, exploratory, and experimental activities.
For the past three years, CLAE has been offering temporary artistic residencies on the CFL footbridge in the Gare district. Visitors can discover interactive works of art using the Artivive app, which offers an immersive augmented reality experience. This initiative highlights often overlooked stories and invites the public to take a fresh look at histories that are invisible to the naked eye.
The Festival des Migrations also hosts the Book and Culture Fair. For 25 years, this fair has brought together nearly 150 stands from booksellers, publishers, and literary associations. Around 100 writers from various backgrounds will be present for book signings and meetings, offering visitors the opportunity to discover new works and chat with their favorite authors.
The Salon des Migrations also includes the Salon ARTSmanif, a fair for the meeting of cultures and contemporary arts. This platform welcomes emerging and established artists from Luxembourg and elsewhere.
Visitors will be able to admire exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other forms of artistic expression. All of these works once again reflect the diversity and creativity of the cultures represented. Discover the varied talents and multicultural influences that enrich the local art scene.
