Rockids – Daycare Centers and Daycare Facilities Supporting Families in Luxembourg

For over 20 years, Rockids has been supporting children and their families in Luxembourg through a network of 23 daycare centers and after-school programs located throughout the central and southern parts of the country. We welcome children ages 0 to 12 into caring, safe, and stimulating environments designed to meet the needs of both children and their parents.

For families moving to Luxembourg, finding the right childcare option can be a major step. The Luxembourg childcare system can sometimes seem complex when you first arrive in the country, especially for international families. At Rockids, we aim to make this process as simple and reassuring as possible by offering childcare solutions tailored to the different stages of childhood and families’ lifestyles.

A network of centers throughout Luxembourg

Our 23 centers allow families to find a daycare center or daycare facility near their home or workplace. Rockids has locations in Luxembourg City and several municipalities in the central and southern parts of the country, with centers in Kirchberg, Limpertsberg, Rollingergrund, Beggen, Strassen, Mamer, Bertrange, Leudelange, Dudelange, Kayl, Esch-sur-Alzette, Schifflange, and in the surrounding municipalities.

Our facilities are open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., year-round, including during school breaks and on holidays. This schedule allows parents to benefit from consistent care that fits their work and family lives.

Families can choose from different options depending on their child’s age: our daycare centers care for the youngest children, ages 0 to 4, while our after-school programs support children ages 4 to 12, particularly in their daily lives after school and during school breaks.

A Child-Centered Educational Approach

At Rockids, each child is supported in a way that respects their own pace, personality, and needs. Our educational program is based in particular on the Montessori, Pikler, and Reggio Emilia approaches, as well as on the National Reference Framework for Non-Formal Education of Children and Youth in Luxembourg.

The goal is to enable each child to gradually develop their independence, self-confidence, creativity, and ability to get along with others.

The days are structured around educational, creative, athletic, and exploratory activities, as well as times for free play, rest, and socializing. The spaces, activities, and projects are designed to allow children to explore their environment and learn at their own pace.

Multilingualism at the Heart of the Luxembourg Experience

Luxembourg is a deeply international and multilingual country. For expatriate or newly arrived families, the linguistic environment can be a new experience for both parents and children.

At Rockids, we view this diversity as a true asset. Our children grow up in an environment where multiple languages are present on a daily basis. This natural immersion fosters their cultural openness and allows them to gradually become familiar with different sounds and languages through everyday life and play.

The goal is not to put pressure on children to learn a language, but to offer them an open and naturally multilingual environment that reflects the reality of life in Luxembourg.

Support That Includes Parents, Too

The relationship with families plays a key role in our approach. A child’s arrival at a daycare center or after-school program marks a new stage, both for the child and for their parents. We therefore pay special attention to communication and interaction between our staff and families.

Parents are regularly updated on their child’s life at the center and can discuss their child’s development, habits, needs, and daily routine with the staff.

For families new to Luxembourg, our staff are also available to explain how the facility operates and answer any questions regarding their child’s care.

Accredited Facilities Accessible Through the CSA

All Rockids daycare centers and after-school programs are accredited as “Education and Childcare Services” by the Luxembourg government and are recognized as providers of the Childcare Service Voucher (CSA). Eligible families can thus take advantage of the CSA program at our facilities.

The CSA is an important part of Luxembourg’s child care system. For families who have recently moved to Luxembourg, understanding the various child care options can sometimes require a bit of effort. Rockids supports parents in their search and provides them with the information they need to prepare for their child’s enrollment.

Continuity in a Child’s Development

Our goal is to provide an environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive over the years. From nursery to daycare, Rockids supports the various stages of childhood within a consistent and caring setting.

With its network of centers, educational approach, multilingual environment, and professional staff, Rockids aims to offer families living in Luxembourg a childcare solution that is reassuring, practical, and tailored to their daily lives.
