Traditionally, the race starts on the forecourt of Neimenster Abbey in the Grund district, on the banks of the Alzette River. During the event, regional cuisine and a host of activities await participants, making this unique race a real celebration with DJ sets. From noon onwards , the Duck Race also offers a range of activities for children. Food stands allow visitors to sample local specialties.

In the 2025 Duck Race, the first prize was a Volkswagen Polo. The second prize was an outdoor kitchen. An electric bike, vouchers worth up to €2,500, and many other prizes are awarded to the fastest ducks.
