Boosting the local economy and promoting the Greater Region
Since its launch in 2021, "Long Live The Summer" has become an unmissable event for creative minds and young entrepreneurs in Luxembourg. Originally designed to support local businesses facing the challenges of the pandemic, the event remains an interactive platform today. Citizens, businesses, and associations come together around a program combining culture, sports, and discovery.
Each year, with the support of the City of Luxembourg and the Chamber of Commerce, more than 100 emerging businesses from different neighborhoods of the city and local e-commerce present their products and services. The event highlights the dynamism of the local economy while celebrating diversity and innovation.
A dynamic approach for a long-term future
Recognized as a Green Business Event by the Directorate General of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy, "Long Live The Summer" is a sustainable event. It stands out for its approach combining economic development and ecological responsibility. "As a major event organizer in the Greater Region, we have a special responsibility for the impact of our activities, both economically and environmentally, with citizens and future generations in mind," says Morgan Gromy, CEO of Luxexpo The Box.
This commitment is reflected in the decision to limit the ecological impact of major events.
-
Exhibitors are local and favor short supply chains.
-
The products on offer are often organic, seasonal, and sourced from the region.
-
Waste is sorted and recycled on site.
-
The infrastructure is eco-designed.
-
Visitors are encouraged to come by public transport or bicycle.
This approach is part of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's national sustainable development strategy. It's also a great way to show that innovation can go hand in hand with responsibility.
