While the exact dates for 2025 are not yet known, the 2025 winter sales will undoubtedly take place in January, as they do every year.

In Belgium, the 2024 winter sales took place from January 3 to January 31, 2024.

French stores were offering their sales from January 10 to February 6, 2024.

There are no fixed sale dates in Germany. They generally start at the end of December and last until the end of January. You can also take advantage of discounts all year round.

What are the consumer's rights during sales?

All purchasers of consumer goods are entitled to a 2-year warranty on product conformity.

Also, even if the product is on sale, the consumer can obtain a refund or discount if the product has a defect. The seller may also offer to repair or exchange the product. However, the seller is not obliged to do either, if the buyer acquired the product with knowledge of the defect.

If there is no defect, retailers are not obliged to take back or exchange products purchased during the sale period.

So be sure to think carefully before buying a product on sale, especially if it's a major purchase.
