Event description

The last edition of Run in the Dark took place on November 15, 2023 in Luxembourg. The next date, 2024, has not yet been set. However, as every year, this race in support of paralysis will take place at the same time in over 50 cities around the world.

By running with the Run in The Dark community, you support those who can't walk.

Run in The Dark in Luxembourg and around the world

Run in The Dark is a race that takes place every year in mid-November, all over the world, in the dark. By running in the middle of the night wearing a flashing armband, runners show that light is there to give hope to all those who are paralyzed.

Dublin opened the event with a start on November 14, 2023 at 8pm. Other countries followed suit, with some 50 cities taking part in the event in 2023.

Every year, more and more people take part. The 2022 edition counted over 25,000 participants worldwide.

In Luxembourg, the start was at 8pm on November 15, 2023, at the Rives de Clausen. As elsewhere, the race offers two routes, of 5 and 10 km, in the darkness of Luxembourg City.

Can't make it to Luxembourg? You can download the Run in The Dark App and join in virtually between November 14 and 15, at your own pace and schedule.

The race has been running in Luxembourg since 2014. The last edition brought together almost 2,000 runners. Nearly 38,000 euros were raised.

Fundraising for Run in The Dark

Run in The Dark is also a charity event to raise funds for paralysis.

Can't run? You can make a donation or even raise funds for Collaborative Cures, partner of the Run in The Dark operation since 2020, to fight paralysis.

Irish athlete Mark Pollock was paralyzed in an accident. The first blind person to visit the South Pole, he was also a keen endurance racer.

On the initiative of his friends, the first Run in the Dark race took place while he was still in hospital. Then, via the Irish community, the movement quickly spread around the world and to Luxembourg.

Do you want to support paralyzed people and help give them hope of ever walking again? Take part in Run in The Dark by running or fundraising.
