At the end of September 2024, for example, the average price for Luxembourg City was €1,130 per month for a one-bedroom apartment of 30 m² without parking. A two-bedroom apartment of 70 m² costs more than €1,900 per month. A three-bedroom apartment costs around €2,470 per month for 100 m². You will need to add €300 for indoor parking.

It is important to note that prices vary depending on the location. The most affordable areas in Luxembourg for rentals are the south of the city with the Cessange district, the north with Beggen, and the east with Hamm. How much should you budget for housing in Luxembourg?

You've finally found the property of your dreams. But what do you need to know about the lease agreement for renting a home? To sign the lease agreement, you will need at least your ID, your last three pay slips, and/or your employment contract.

In Luxembourg, rental leases are generally for a period of three years. They can be renewed three months before the end of the term. If you leave the property before the end of the lease, you must also give three months' notice.

Finally, if you own a dog, you must register your faithful companion with the municipal authorities. You will have to pay a tax of a few dozen euros each year. This tax may vary from one municipality to another.

Take out the right home insurance

In addition to home insurance, you will need to take out car insurance as soon as you move to Luxembourg. You also have six months to register your vehicle with a Luxembourg license plate. To do so, youmust register it with the administrative services.
