Luxembourg has a wealth of museums, reflecting its history, culture and natural diversity. Every year, Luxembourg's museums open their doors to visitors free of charge, enabling them to discover the country's rich heritage.

Nuit des Musées Luxembourg, museums by night

On October 12, 2024, the Museums of the City of Luxembourg will open their doors to the public for a very special evening: the "Nuit des Musées". For this 23rd edition of the "Nuit des Musées", the 7 participating museums will once again be expecting more than 20,000 visitors.

During these special evening visits, each participating museum welcomes the public into its permanent and temporary collections, enlivened for the occasion by theme-related performances.

In a previous edition, Luxembourg sportsmen and women improvised themselves as guides for an evening. They presented the public with a "favorite work" in each of the 7 participating museums.

We're sure there'll be plenty of surprises in store for evening visitors, including musical tours, artistic performances and workshops.

During this Nuit des Musées, participating Mwill be open from 5pm to 1am. Mudam, the Museum of Modern Art in Kirchberg, will continue the festivities until 3am. Free shuttles will be available to facilitate night-time travel.

For the Nuit des Musées, tickets can be purchased in advance from participating museums or at the LCTO Place Guillaume in Luxembourg, or on the website at a preferential pre-sale rate.

History of Museum Nights Luxembourg

Created in 2001 by the "d'stater muséeën" movement, the Nuit des Musées has since become a key event in the cultural life of Luxembourg City. Every year, more and more people take part in the various activities: guided tours created specifically for the occasion, workshops for children and adults. The atmosphere is also particularly festive, with DJs and gourmets on hand to provide musical and gastronomic entertainment.
