Festival des Migrations: celebrating Luxembourg's diversity
For over four decades, Luxembourg has been celebrating its rich cultural mosaic every year. The Festival des Migrations, des Cultures et de la Citoyenneté is an emblematic event, organized by CLAE (Comité de Liaison des Associations d'Étrangers).
Residents and newcomers once again have a unique opportunity to discover and celebrate the cultural diversity that makes the Grand Duchy so rich.
Indeed, every organization involved in Luxembourg's cultural and political life is showcasing its achievements and commitment to a fairer social life and a more united future.
A not-to-be-missed event for new arrivals
For expatriates and new residents, the Festival des Migrations is much more than just a cultural event. Organized by CLAE, the organization in charge of integrating new arrivals, the Festival des Migrations, de la Culture et de la Citoyenneté is a gateway to the many facets of Luxembourg society. It's one of Luxembourg's not-to-be-missed events.
Newcomers and long-term expatriates to Luxembourg are invited to discover the traditions, arts and cuisines of over 170 nationalities represented in Luxembourg, living harmoniously together. To take part in this festival is to understand Luxembourg's social dynamics, to forge links and to feel part of this multicultural community.
A Rich and Varied Program
The Festival des Migrations offers a multitude of activities over two days, reflecting the cultural richness of Luxembourg.
The entire program highlights the multiculturalism of Luxembourg residents through various workshops and presentations. At the Festival des Migrations, des Cultures et de la Citoyenneté, visitors can take part in a wide range of festive and convivial activities : entertainment, stage shows, master-classes, conferences, round-table discussions, as well as cultural and artistic activities, concerts...
Association and gastronomy stands
Over 400 stands are present, representing various cultural associations, NGOs and institutions working for a more inclusive society. Visitors can sample culinary specialities from all over the world, discover unique handicrafts and talk to representatives of different communities. In this way, they can gain a better understanding of the diverse cultures present in Luxembourg.
The Festival Village: A Place for Meetings and Debates
At the heart of the festival is the "Festival Village", a space dedicated to citizen debates, events and interactive workshops. Supported by a variety of public and private organizations, this venue fosters discussion on topical subjects, integration issues and contemporary societal challenges. Visitors are encouraged to take an active part in round tables and conferences, contributing to a collective reflection on citizenship and living together.
CLAE Pop-up Residency: An Innovative Artistic Experience
For the past three years, CLAE has been offering ephemeral artistic residencies on the CFL footbridge in the Gare district. Visitors can discover interactive works of art thanks to the Artivive application, offering immersion in augmented reality. This initiative sheds light on stories that are often overlooked, and invites the public to take a fresh look at stories that are invisible to the naked eye.
Luxembourg Book and Culture Fair
The Festival des Migrations also hosts the Salon du Livre et des Cultures, bringing together some 150 stands from booksellers, publishers and literary associations.
Around a hundred writers from a wide variety of backgrounds will be on hand for book signings and meetings, offering visitors the chance to discover new works and talk with their favorite authors. Highlights of 2025 include:

Saturday March 15 at 1:30pm: Literary encounter entitled "Contemporary female voices: a portrait of women in Portuguese literature", proposed by Pessoa, with the participation of authors Tânia Ganho and Susana Amaro Velho.

Saturday March 15, 3:00 pm: Meeting with Spanish writer Aroa Moreno Durán, organized by the Círculo Cultural Español Antonio Machado.

Sunday March 16 at 3:30pm: Children's reading "Soundia's adventures for the planet" by Myriam Tarawele and Ludwig Liagre, presented by RioBooks.
ARTSmanif: A meeting of cultures and contemporary arts
The Salon des Migrations is also the Salon ARTSmanif, a fair for the encounter of cultures and contemporary arts. This platform welcomes emerging and established artists from Luxembourg and beyond.
Visitors will be able to admire exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photographs and other forms of artistic expression. Once again, these works reflect the diversity and creativity of the cultures represented. Discover the varied talents and multicultural influences that enrich the local art scene.

Access to LuxExpo
- Public transport: The tramway is the most convenient way to get to the festival, with a stop directly at LuxExpo.
- Car: Access by car is possible, but parking spaces are limited. A daily fee of 6 euros is charged. We therefore recommend using public transport to avoid the inconvenience of parking.
Free admission to the Festival des Migrations
However, donations are encouraged to support the organization of the event, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the City of Luxembourg.
