The Red Cross organizes its traditional bazaar

The 77th Red Cross Bazaar took place in Luxembourg on Saturday November 18 and Sunday November 19, 2023, on the Champ du Glacis under a temporary tent. Under the patronage of H.R.H. the Grand Duchess, President of the Luxembourg Red Cross, the bazaar raised funds for children and young people in need. 

The next dates for the Red Cross Bazaar 2024 are not yet known.

Flea market, catering and children's activities at the Red Cross Bazaar

Held every year in Luxembourg, the Red Cross Bazaar is a true tradition. Strolling through the stalls, visitors can not only treat themselves for a weekend, but also help those most in need.

The Bazar de la Croix Rouge is a huge flea market. Visitors can find vintage and designer clothing, as well as handicrafts and second-hand goods. Silverware, porcelain tableware and second-hand goods of all kinds await bargain hunters.

It's a great opportunity to find decorative items for the home, get dressed up for less, and make original gifts for next Christmas. Whatever your budget, there's something for everyone at the various flea market stalls.

A food hall also offers visitors a variety of national and international culinary specialities.

There will also be activity stands for children in the kids' corner. They can also meet the Kleeschen or Saint Nicholas, who will greet the children on November 19 at 11am and 3pm.

Meet Red Cross volunteers at the Bazaar

During the Red Cross Bazaar, profits are donated to the benefit of young people in Luxembourg and abroad.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to meet the teams of the Luxembourg Red Cross. You'll be able to find out more about the various projects and actions undertaken to help young people and children in distress in Luxembourg and abroad.

The Luxembourg Red Cross Bazaar has existed since the end of the Second World War in 1946 to help the poorest of the poor. The sale of second-hand clothing, food and handicrafts provides funds for the Red Cross' social works.

The Red Cross Bazaar is traditionally organized under the patronage of Grand Duchess Maria Theresa.

The Red Cross Bazaar has always attracted Luxembourg residents, as well as the Grand Ducal family and other VIPs. The Hereditary Grand Duke and his wife, Prince Félix and his wife Princess Claire, regularly grace the Bazaar with their presence. We also meet Xavier Bettel, a great fan of this type of event. Stéphane Bern, the famous French TV presenter whose grandmother was born in Luxembourg, is also a regular visitor.
