The German-speaking community represents more than 13,000 Germans settled in Luxembourg in 2017 and over 500 Swiss people.
We also note the presence of more than 47,000 German border workers who come to work every day in Luxembourg.
Germans live more specifically near the German-Luxembourg border. It is in Mertert that we meet the largest German community where they represent 8%. The cities of Grevenmacher and Rosport-Mompach are also well represented.
10% of Germans living in Luxembourg were born there.
