Located in the heart of the Luxembourg capital, the Cercle Cité in its current configuration opened in 2011 after being renovated and hosts many exhibitions, music concerts, conferences, readings in public, … and a media library.
The Cercle Cité is made up of the Municipal Circle, a beautiful historic building overlooking the Place d’Armes since 1909,and theater of historical events such as royal dinners during visits by foreign Head of State (Queen Elizabeth II, French President François Mitterrand for example) or the greetings of Prince Félix in 1944 for the liberation of Luxembourg from the German occupation.
With the connection by a glass bridge of a contemporary socio-cultural center built on the site of the former Ciné-Cité, this new structure represents a cultural space which is the new place of exchange and meeting of all types of cultural events: concerts, conferences, exhibitions, literature, etc.
Several halls including an amphitheater and lounges (including a banquet hall of 250 people) can be rented to organize events.
The library and media library section hosts Luxembourgish, French, German and English literature.
