First aid gestures

Anyone may witness an accident or a loss of consciousness, and may be able to save a life. With these first aid-training courses, you will learn the appropriate gestures in case of emergency. You will then be able to help a person in danger, wounded, unconscious or in a vital emergency pending the arrival of medical first aid professionals.

At the end of the training, you will receive a free first aid certificate available for 5 years.

First-aid training courses in French and Luxembourgish

The first aid courses are now centralized by the INFS, the National Institute of Rescue Training, responsible in particular for the training of firefighters of the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps. Organized in collaboration with the City of Luxembourg and many municipalities in Luxembourg , they are offered free of charge to the civilian population.

These first aid courses are also offered to companies for their employees. Indeed, it is mandotory in Luxembourg companies to train a certain number of staff in first aid, as well as to have a first aid place. The minimum number of rescuers must be 5% of the personnel in a commercial or administrative type company, 10% in other cases.

Course content

The program of these first-aid training courses lasts 16 hours and associates theory(1/3) and practice (2/3), on the European model of First Aid Course.

At the course, the participants will be able to perform the necessary first-aid actions such as securing the accident site, effectively calling for help, and taking the first positive actions such as lateral safety position, cardio and pulmonary resuscitation, stop bleeding, remove an injured biker helmet, …
