DKV Urban Trail: Luxembourg sneakers to the feet!

After 2 years of stop because of Covid, the DKV Urban Trail starts again for the biggest pleasure of all the runners of Luxembourg. So are you ready to put on your sneakers and go to the starting line?

The next edition will take place over a weekend, on Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24, 2022.

Want to participate in an incredible sporting event? Join the more than 4,000 runners and sportsmen and women who every year walk the streets of Luxembourg City. You too can take on the many stairs, slopes and forest paths of the Grand Ducal capital. Nordic walker or runner, simple walker, to each his own urban trail and sports course! In any case, an unforgettable sports race.

Because beyond the real sporting challenge that represents this event like no other, the DKV Urban Trail is a magnificent race. It leaves no participant indifferent. Year after year, the number of followers increases. This year again, more than 4,000 participants will take to the streets of the capital. They will be able to confront the magnificent courses chosen according to their sporting level and their taste for challenge.

The DKV Urban Trail is above all the opportunity to discover differently the City of Luxembourg and its historical, unusual or exceptional places by their architecture: Grand Ducal Palace, Vauban fortifications, Abbey of Neumunster, casemates of the Bock, Philharmonie, Fort Thungen, MUDAM, … according to the course and in a convivial atmosphere

The highlights? The cobblestones of the old town of Luxembourg, the first flight of stairs from the Grund, the climb through the forest to the Kirchberg, the unforgettable crossing of the Pfaffenthal tunnel in the dark to the sound of drums and of course the last stairs so difficult to climb on the way back to the Cité Judiciaire.

A challenge to yourself and such an incredible way to visit the beautiful city of Luxembourg!

Sports courses for all levels

Starting from the Plateau Saint Esprit and the Cité Judiciaire, several challenging courses are offered for all levels of sports.

On Saturday April 23, 3 Nordic walks of 5, 13 and 18 km with staggered departures between 10 am and 2 pm.

  • Les Traces de Vauban 13 km, individual race. the Traces of Vauban, it is the classic race of DKV. The departures are in 3 times from 12 am.
  • In the footsteps of Melusine over 18 km, individual race or in team-run of 3 teammates,
  • The Trail des Forts over 27 km in individual, departure at 11am
  • The GranDucale in individual on 34 km, departure at 10:40 am. It will take you to Hespérange.

In addition, Mini Trails are also offered for 6-8 year olds (900 meters) or 9-12 year olds (1,600 meters).

The prize-giving ceremony will take place at 2pm.

A childcare service is available for runners or accompanying persons.
