DKV Urban Trail: Luxembourg by running!

Do you like sporting and unusual challenges? Do you want to discover Luxembourg City in a different way? Then don’t miss the DKV Urban Trail de Luxembourg, Luxembourg’s major sporting event!

Attention: during the Coronavirus containment, all gatherings are forbidden until further notice. As a result, the DKV Urban Trail 2020 scheduled for 26 April is cancelled.

Want to be part of an incredible sporting event? Join the nearly 4,000 runners and sportsmen and women who each year set foot on the asphalt of the City of Luxembourg. You too can take on the many stairs, gradients and other forest paths in the Grand Ducal capital. Nordic walker or runner, to each his own urban trail and his own sporting route! In any case, an unforgettable sporting race.

Because, beyond the real sports challenge represented by this not so common race, the DKV Urban Trail is a magnificent event which provides runners with an unforgettable memory. Year after year, the number of participants increases. In 2018, 3,750 runners roamed the streets of the capital and faced the magnificent courses chosen according to their sporting level and their taste for challenge.
The DKV Urban Trail is above all an opportunity to discover Luxembourg City and its historic, unusual or exceptional places through their architecture in a different way: Grand Ducal Palace, Casemates du Bock,Vauban fortifications, Abbey of Neumunster,  Philharmonie, Fort Thungen, the MUDAM museum, the Alzette Valley

Sports courses for all levels

From the Plateau Saint Esprit and the Judicial City, several endurance routes are offered depending on your sports level:

  • The Tracks of Vauban (13km), in individual running (race), Nordic Walk or Dog Trail
  • In the Steps of Mélusine, 18-km long, an either individual or team of 3 run,
  • Trail of the Forts, over 27km
  • The GranDucale, over 34km, which will lead you to Hespérange.

Mini Trails are also offered for children aged 6-8 (900 meters) or 9-12 (1,600 meters).

A childcare service is available for the runners or the accompanying persons. Would you like to participate in the logistical management of this sports event? The organisation needs volunteers, do not hesitate to contact them on the website.

Motorists be careful, certain streets of the capital will be closed to the traffic. Please, inquire.
