See an unusual Luxembourg with the DKV Urban Trail
DKV Urban Trail, a sporting challenge
Want to take part in an incredible sporting event? Join the runners and walkers who take to the streets of Luxembourg City every year. You too can test your mettle on the Grand-Ducal capital's many staircases, gradients and forest trails. Nordic walker, runner, simple walker? There's a trail for everyone! Either way, the DKV Urban Trail is an unforgettable sportive (or less sportive) race. Our favorite!
Beyond the real sporting challenge represented by this event like no other, the DKV Urban Trail is a magnificent race. It leaves no participant indifferent. Year after year, the number of participants increases. In 2023, over 4,000 participants took to the streets of the capital. They took on magnificent courses chosen according to their sporting level and their taste for a challenge.
An opportunity to see Luxembourg City in a different light
The DKV Urban Trail is above all an opportunity to discover Luxembourg City in a different way. By taking part in the race, you'll come across all the historic, unusual and exceptional sites of Luxembourg's capital: Grand Ducal Palace, Bock casemates, Vauban fortifications, Neumunster Abbey, Fort Thungen, MUDAM, European buildings, Philharmonie, etc. The route is varied, and runners enjoy a happy, friendly atmosphere.
Highlights of this unforgettable race in Luxembourg?
Starting from the Cité Judiciaire, the runners follow the cobblestones of Luxembourg's old town.
After a descent to the lower town, they climb the first flight of stairs from the Grund. Then they face the daunting climb through the forest to the Kirchberg.
For our part, it's the unforgettable journey through the Pfaffenthal tunnel in the dark, guided by the sound of drums, that we'll remember most.
And what can we say about the interminable staircases that are so difficult to climb on the way back to the Cité Judiciaire? In short, an epic! But what a joy in the end.
A challenge to yourself, and such an incredible way to visit the beautiful city of Luxembourg!
The DKV Urban Trail offers sporting routes for all levels.
Starting from the Plateau Saint Esprit and the Cité Judiciaire, there are several challenging routes for all levels of fitness.
