For many years, the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg organizes every summer the “City Open Air Cinema with Orange” and highlights the great classics. Let yourself be carried away under the stars to experience or relive the great moments of cinema. Classic or contemporary films to enjoy outdoors in a grandiose setting!
Palais Grand-Ducal courtyard, from Friday 26 July to Saturday 3 August
Find a diversified program, open to all audiences. Relive the adventures of “ET the Extra-Terrestrial” or dance with John Travolta in “Saturday Night Fever”. Shiver with Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” or have fun with “Superjhemp Retörns”.
Théâtre des Capucins from Thursday 8 to Saturday 17 August
The interior courtyard of the Théâtre des Capucins welcomes you to a more specific program. You can see “Zazie dans le Métro”, “La Strada” by Federico Fellini or “American Graffiti”, among others.
Les Rotondes from 5 August to Thursday 22 August
Les Rotondes will welcome you to its more advanced programming with Hair by Milos Forman, Yellow Submarine and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Good to know: the sessions take place at 9:30 pm every evening, even in case of rain (plastic pilgrims are provided). The films are shown in original version with subtitles french/english.
