ACL's pre-holiday checklist

The Pentecost and summer vacations are just around the corner. Many of you will be hitting the road to get away from it all. To make sure your trip goes off without a hitch, ACL is here to complete your pre-departure checklist.

Is my vehicle in good condition before I go on vacation?

It's never too early to have your vehicle safety checked before setting off on vacation. To this end, ACL Diagnostic Center offers the "Holiday Test". It covers all risk points on a car, such as battery, tire condition, suspension and fluid levels.

In order to undertake any necessary repairs before departure, it is advisable to carry out the test three to four weeks before departure. The ACL Diagnostic Center does not carry out repairs, but tests vehicle safety independently and neutrally. As a result, motorists have complete control over the cost of improving the condition and safety of their vehicle.

ACL Diagnostic Center services are accessible to all, and ACL members benefit from particularly attractive discounts.

If my car can't make the trip, where can I rent one?

At ACL, we strongly advise you to have your vehicle checked before you leave, or to book a rental car now. At present, ACL Clubmobil still has vehicles available in Luxembourg and abroad, but the situation could change quickly. ACL members can cancel their reservations free of charge.

I need an electronic toll tag for abroad

Electronic toll badges (Bip&Go) for France, Spain, Portugal and Italy are available from our offices in Bertrange and Ingeldorf, as are freeway vignettes for Switzerland and Austria. We also invite holidaymakers to ask our experts about environmental zones in major European cities.

Can I take advantage of ACL assistance while on vacation?

Don't forget to make sure you've renewed your European membership card with ACL, so you'll be covered in the event of a breakdown. No matter how you travel, even in a camper van, ACL is there to help.

However, if we're going to help our members in distress, we might as well avoid a breakdown on the way, with its attendant inconvenience and wasted days. We're all looking forward to our vacations, so let's make sure they start well and end just as well!
