112 is the emergency phone number in Europe. You can dial 112 when in an emergency in the 25 European Member States as well as in Norway, Island, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

You can dial 112 in the following situations:


  • an accident on the road, at work, at home, etc. (when someone is injured), 
  • illness,  
  • fire,
 
  • flood,
  
  • intoxication,
 
  • an attack where people have been injured, 
  • pollution,
  
  • material or bodily damage.

In the event of a road accident but no one has been injured call the police on 113.
By calling 112 you can also get information regarding which hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, vets are on call, as well as locksmiths and breakdown services.
