Amongst the 15 000 runners who havec signed up for the 2017 edition of the Luxembourg ING Night Marathon , some will have another challenge to take up before 25th May. On top of running the 42.195km of the official itinerary this coming Saturday, some of the runners signed up for the Team Run and will also be taking part in the race for “likes” launched as part of ING’s #AllChampions social media campaign.
The #AllChampions competition was launched on 5th May via an app on the “ING Runners’ Community” Facebook page. The runners who signed up via the mobile app #AllChampions were invited to post their photo on the Facebook page of the ING Runners’ Community. The goal of the competition is to get the most likes in the final days leading up to the big event.
Since we’re living in a digital age, the teams won’t just be rubbing shoulders while racing past the Gëlle Fra statue, cheered on by a bigger-than-ever crowd of supporters. Our #AllChampions will also have to prove themselves online by getting the most votes or “likes” for their teams in order to be crowned winners!
The members of the 4 teams whose photos have received the most “likes” by midnight on 25th May will win sports equipment worth 100 €; ING will also offer them free registrations to the 2018 edition of the marathon. From these four teams, the team that gets the best race time will be awarded the #AllChampions title, and its members will each receive a pair of personalised Nike trainers.
Launching the #AllChampions app on Facebook to encourage interaction amidst the Team Run Community is not the only novelty of the 2017 event. Initially created for employees of the same company or team , the Team Run itself has undergone a change as well. This year, the 4-person relay allows teams competing under their company’s banner to run alongside teams composed partly of refugees. A great way to embody the Luxembourg ING Night Marathon 2017 slogan: #AllChampions support runners!
Like every spring, Luxembourg City will be covered in the colours of the Luxembourg ING Night Marathon. As always, ING will provide visitors with lots of fun gadgets. It’s going to be an orange weekend! J
Over 100 000 people are expected to come to the capital and cheer on the runners all across the city and along the Pétrusse. Among the thousands of runners will be some eagerly awaited stars, such as the Estonian Luik triplets or the two Kenyan runners John Komen and Bellor Yator.
