Last Wednesday, 1st March, 2017, the "Just Arrived" team presented the new edition of the practical guide for the residents in Luxembourg to its partner, the City of Luxembourg.
This year the guide "Just Arrived" in Luxembourg has been fully updated and enriched in order to support newcomers in their first steps in the Grand Duchy, especially in the capital, and to facilitate their integration into their new surroundings.
As well as providing administrative assistance, the guide is also a valuable tool to get a general overview of Luxembourg. It places a great deal of importance on everyday life, presenting cultural sites and events, sports facilities, restaurants and bars, green spaces, short break ideas, associations that express the specific intercultural dynamic not only In the capital but also throughout the country.
An handy booklet accompanying the guide, with a concise approach to administrative procedures, will make it easier for the future inhabitants of the City of Luxembourg to find information on registration in the population register, possibilities for naturalization or recovery of Luxembourg citizenship, electoral rolls, identity cards and biometric passports, certificates and copies of acts and family events (births, marriages, partnership declaration, death etc..
Ever aware of the needs and questions of its new citizens and willing to accompany them in the important stages of their lives, the City gives the new "Just Arrived" guide free of charge, with the "Administrative Procedures" booklet, to every future resident.
You can collect it at the Bierger- Center (44, Place Guillaume II / 2, rue Notre-Dame, opening hours: Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm). The current edition of the guide can also be obtained at the reception and information service of Guichet.lu located 11, rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg-City.
Always in the spirit of simplifying the integration of newcomers, the Just Arrived team launched the project of the "Ambassadors Club - JUST ARRIVED", now known as "JAAClub". The ambassadors are residents of Luxembourg, of foreign origin, strongly involved in their community of origin and well integrated into the life of the country. Their role is to help the newcomers of their community to find more practical reference points in their new life in Luxembourg.
The "JAAClub" future web site will be a platform for intercultural exchanges where each ambassador can move as an actor (realization of articles, promotion of events, initiation of projects ...). The release of the portal is planned for 2017.
