Finding a job in Luxembourg may sometimes be long and difficult. However, there are many useful organizations to know outside the ADEM in order to facilitate your job hunting. Here are some of them.
In Luxembourg, there are many recruitment agencies. What is their function? Acting as an intermediary (most of the time for free) between employers and job seekers. Signing up with them allows you to be registered in their database and increases your chances of finding a job in line with your profile and your skills. Among them, RH Expert, an agency specializing in the permanent contracts but also Ajilon RH Solutions and Michael Page International.
To assist the job seekers in their research, many associations were created in Luxembourg. Among them, Zarabina, an association whose purpose is to offer (including language) trainings and advice for to the job seekers, Initiativ Rëm Schaffen asbl, which offers free guidance advice by appointment, and the Jeune Chambre Economique, specializing in advice for young entrepreneurs and support for workers.
One of the best ways to get a complete list of job offers that match your profile is to register on the websites that are specialized in offers and job search, or, at least, to go there frequently. Some of them even send you by mail, each week, a customized selection of offers matching your profile. To have access to these job offers, you can go, amongst others, on the Moovijob website, Euraxess (for the scientists), Monster, Jobfinder.lu, or also at the “Employment” section of the website Essentiel.
In Luxembourg, job fairs (e.g. Moovijob Tour DeLux, Unicareers, Plug & Work Luxembourg) are frequently organized, often gathering the largest companies on the Luxembourgian market, in many different areas. It is a good opportunity to get acquainted with potential employers and to distribute many CV in person. Keep yourself regularly informed on the actuality of these career fairs in Luxembourg and its neighboring countries, they can be a good stepping stone in your research !
