Frank Jons: an artist flowing with colour

For over twenty years the artist Frank Jons has been painting and creating colourful artwork, full of energy and light. Just before the opening of his exhibition Just Arrived visited his studio, 115A rue Emile Markin Differdange.

Frank Jons works on his canvases on the ground, no easel nor brush. A unique technique which results in vibrant, free form art which draws us in.

He throws the paint quickly with precision and then moves the canvas so the paint runs and combines to have a vibrant and strong image. The artist, used to painting on canvas is now using styrodur blocks. A real challenge for someone used to enormous canvases!

But these different sized blocks have allowed him to refine his creations, to work by overlaying to give strength and create real panels of colour. Some have a shape or a face whilst others play with colour. « That is the randomness of art » highlights this passionate artist.

Recently installed in the creative hub in Differdange, 1535°C (refers to the temperature at which steel smelts which took place in this old factory), Frank Jons will inaugurate his new studio on Friday 24th April from 6pm. All Just Arrived fans are invited and also on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th from 2pm to 5pm for a café gourmand. A great way to discover a talented, contemporary artist.
