Joanna, how long have you been in Luxembourg?
I’ve been living in Luxembourg since 2010.
What reason brought you to Luxembourg?
I came to Luxembourg for personal reasons.
What did you study and what is your main activity?
I studied cultural history, Russian and literature. Currently I am in a professional development transition into the exciting field of Cybersecurity.
Can you give me 3 adjectives to describe your life in Luxemburg?
Active, significant and creative.
What aspect of Luxembourg would you miss if you had to leave tomorrow?
I would definitely miss its cultural diversity and all the great people I’ve met here.
What is your favourite district in Luxemburg?
City centre with its historical buildings and breathtaking views.
Can you give me an example of a word in your mother tongue that is difficult to translate in another language?
It was hard for me to find such a word in my mind spontaneously. Perhaps it’s because there are so many other languages around me that everything seems to have an easy intuitive explanation.
There is this word I like very much but it’s quite “old school”. Nobody uses it any more. “Pięknoduch” consists of two words “piękno” (beauty) and “duch” (spirit) and describes a person who is a little bit detached from reality and measures everything with high aesthetic standards.
For which reason you have decided to join the JUST ARRIVED Ambassadeur Club ?
I wanted to write blog articles about my experiences here in Luxembourg. I remember talking about my idea with a friend of mine and she told me about the JUST ARRIVED initiative and I thought: “Yes. That’s it! I want to join them!” And I did!
