How long have you been in Luxembourg ?
What reason took you to Luxembourg ?
I came for a wonderful working opportunity.
What studies did you do and what is your main activity?
My studies are in Economics and Psychology and my career developed in 3 chapters until now : first in the development of sales and marketing strategies, second in innovation management consulting and in the last years as a coach and trainer in communication, change and creativity.
Can you give me 3 adjectives to describe your life in Luxemburg ?
I do not know if the following words are adjectives ;) but I would describe my life here as balanced, independent and joyful.
What aspect of Luxembourg would you miss if you had to leave tomorrow ?
Beside the organised, worry free administration (no matter if is for private matters or business) I would definitively miss the multicultural community and using 3-4 languages per day for communication.
What is your favourite district in Luxemburg ?
Since I came I lived in 5 neighbourhoods and each has its own charm. I am a city girl so definitively I like the city centre with the marvellous view on the Grund, I like the Grund as such, Clausen for the night life…then my neighbourhood Rollingergrund for all the paths in the forest and the conglomeration of houses with so many different styles.
Can you give me an exemple of a word in your mother tongue that is difficult to translate in another language ?
DOR, it is a noun used to express the feeling of missing someone or something. Could be translated in big terms as longing, yearning, missing or being nostalgic. Otherwise, we have expressions that translated become very funny. For example, when somebody is surprised we say “his/her face fall off”, or for the Italian “dolce far niente” we say “rubbing the mint” :)
For which reason you have decided to join the JUST ARRIVED Ambassadeur Club ?
When I came to Luxembourg there were not so many information for foreigners coming here on their own (not as expats or public functionaries) and as I knew nobody I needed some time to find my way and integrate. Since then I do efforts to help others integration smoother. For this matter I was coordinating in 2010 a project in the Romanian community for a guide with basic information about the functioning of Luxembourg for newcomers (in Romanian language) and I am leading the association of Romanian women from Luxembourg and Grater Region AVRIS asbl ( avris.lu) as well as the Romanian Entrepreneurs Network (an initiative of RomLux asbl (romlux.org). Being here for some time and knowing both the Romanian community and Luxembourg I could be of help in this project.
